DIY Valentine’s Day Magnets using Journal Cards

Hi guys!!

Valentine’s Day is one of my family’s favorite holidays. I love crafting and creating fun things for my loved ones during this time of the year!

I decided to put my journal cards to a new use with the Valentine’s Day project I’m sharing with you today by cutting out refrigerator magnets.

For this project I used:

  • Journal Cards from Memory Pockets Monthly: Crush
  • Silhouette Cameo cutting machine (any cutting machine or just a good ole pair of scissors will work)
  • Silhouette printable magnet paper
  • printer

First I opened the Silhouette Studio Software and brought in some of my favorite 3×4 and 4×4 journal cards from the Memory Pockets Monthly main kit.

I resized them to fit on a 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and within the registration marks.

I then selected my trace area and tracing along the outside of the journal cards.

Once this was completed I printed this page on printable magnet paper.

After the magnets were printed, I selected the print settings for “printable magnet sheet”. This is what the setting look like inside Silhouette Studio.

I placed my printed page on a cutting mat and sent my project to the silhouette to print. I did have to do a double cut on these.

I love looking at these cute magnets decorating my fridge for Valentine’s Day! AND I love having a fun new use for my journal cards!!

These would also make a fun gift to include in a Valentine’s Day card to a friend or your child’s classmate.

I hope this post has inspired you to craft something fun for Valentine’s Day and use your journal cards in a new way!
