Hey all, Sarah here. If you are anything like me it’s easy to find yourself at the beginning of December wanting to create a December Daily album but not having a plan yet. Today I want to share with you what I created in just a few hours and how I am planning on using it. It was easy and fast enough to create that even a few days into December you can create this album and get caught up on your December memory keeping.
To begin I cut kraft cardstock into twenty-eight 5″x7″ pages and punched three holes along the side of each of these pages. To place the holes I created a template by drawing a line .5″ from the long edge of one of the pages and then placing one hole in the center of the line as well as a hole .5″ from each end. By using the template to place the holes I was able to save time and make sure that my holes lined up perfectly. I then attached binder rings in each of the holes to keep the pages together. My next step was to print and cut some of the amazing papers and embellishments from the Document Your December collection. I printed a selection of numbers to mark each day, as well as some fun pocket cards and fabulous paper cutouts to decorate my pages.
I cut the paper into .5″ strips and placed them along the top of the left hand page and bottom right hand page of each spread. I then placed my numbers alternating between the left page and right page and placed one of the fun embellishments that I had printed on the opposite page.
Odd numbered days were placed on the left hand side, while even numbered days were placed on the right hand side.
For this day I added a journal card. I’m hoping that this will be a fun way to add multiple stories to one day.
This album could totally be used to document your daily stories this month, but I’ve decided to use my album a little differently this year. My plan is to document a daily memory or tradition for each of the days through Christmas.
Here’s my memory that I recorded on the 1st. I’m not including photos in my album but this size album works perfectly for 4″x6″ photos, so it’s super easy to add photos if you want.
What are you doing this month to document your December? I’d love to know!
