Back to School Cards
Hello friends!!

Tis the season for going back to school and I know it looks super different for many of us this year. I decided to make some Back to School cards using digi-scrap supplies to brighten the day of some friends who are going back to school soon.
These cards were super easy to put together using the First Day Kit by Michelle Lincoln Designs and Studio Basic.

To make this portrait card, I first cut a letter sized paper in half lengthwise. This made two card bases that I folded in half for the finished card base.
I then cut out an layered a red cardstock paper sized 3 3/4 x 5 inches on top of the card base.
Next, in Photoshop I created two 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 inch documents to create the card design. Once I was happy with the two card designs, I flattened the layers and placed them on a letter sized document to print. I used a paper trimmer to cut the designs out.
Then I adhered the card designs on the red cardstock paper for a second layer.
Here’s a look at each card:

For this card, I used a blue solid paper and two patterned papers. I loved the “back to the books” word strips for the card sentiment and I used the stack of books and backpack elements along with the “abc” word art for additional embelishments.

For this card I used a yellow solid paper with two patterned papers. I loved the “work hard, be kind and amazing things will happen” word strips for the card sentiment. What great advice!! Then I embellished with additional elements from the kit.
I’m excited to send these cards out to friends who are embarking on a new adventure this school year and need a little extra encouragement.
