Every year, every child(grands, nieces and nephews), sisters, brothers, husband, wife, moms, dads and yep even our pets have a birthday. We take a zillion photos, and then sit down to scrap ANOTHER birthday page. This can cause the scrapper to shut down and be in a birthday funk from the repetitive feel to scrapping.
How many candles, balloons and cake elements can one scrapper arrange on a page? Apparently, a whole lot, because there are 12 pages of BIRTHDAY designs in the shop here at the-Lily Pad, and those are just the ones that are themed for birthdays.
There was a thread started last month; Anyone else bored with birthday/holiday layouts?, and it sparked this blog post. One of the ideas was to do an interview of the birthday celebrant. Mrivas has the most amazing way to showcase the interview on her page here:
and Lynnette goes to the masculine side of the interview, with her page Birthday Interview
Another tip, that LeeAndra brought was:
I have found it helpful to pull all the photos and put them in a multi-photo template + add in the journaling soon after the event. Then when the “perfect” kit comes along, half of the work is already done & it’s not so terrible to finish the page.
One of the Pollys (IOWAN) is compiling the most amazing birthday book with birthday pages from 5 generations! It is 111 pages! Just a quick glance at her gallery and you will be inspired to open a new canvas to start scrapping the next birthday event. She uses templates a LOT, and not always birthday themed kits. Check out this page for Connor turning one.
Carol aka our Iowan even has her own 5th birthday to go in the book:
Going thru the gallery, this full page jumped out and I would be remiss not to share with you! SeattleSheri’s page Happy Birthday!
Every day, someone is having a birthday and they come around every 365 days! lol We fill our cameras, phones and computers with all the photos and now is the time to get them scrapped. Have fun and play some music and scrap your heart out!
and
~never lose your joy
