DIY Hybrid Flip Calendar
For the New Year, I decided to make a quick 2026 flip calendar for my desk. Aside from the metal binder rings, this is made entirely of paper (and a little glue). Instructions for this easy craft are shared below.
I started with two 12″ x 12″ sheets of black card stock and cut both in half, which gave me four 12″ x 6″ pieces.

To make the cardstock sturdier, I glued together two pieces of the card stock back-to-back to make it double-ply, and did the same with the remaining two pieces. This left me with two 12″ x 6″ pieces of double-ply cardstock.
Using the first piece of double-ply 12″ x 6″ paper, I folded the paper at the 8 inch mark. I used a scoring board to make a clean fold but that is optional. I also used a hole punch to make two holes at the top of the paper (the end opposite of the fold) for the binder rings.

The second paper was folded at both 2″ and 8″. The image below shows the papers after folding and punching. The left-hand paper is the front of the calendar (front paper) and the right-hand paper will be used to create a triangular back (back paper) to prop up the calendar.

I overlapped the bottom 4″ flap of the back paper on top of the 4″ flap of the front paper, adhering them together with glue. (Note that I flipped the papers in the images below).

Then I put glue on the 2″ flap at the top of the back paper and adhered that onto the front paper just below the punched holes. This resulted in a sturdy, triangular calandar base.

I then threaded the binder rings (available on Amazon) through the holes to hold the calendar pages. For those pages, I used calendar cards from One LIttle Bird, 2015 Calendar Cards (M-S Version). I modified these slightly to remove the 2015 date and replaced it with 2026. I printed the cards at roughly 5″x7″. And then, for the super fun part, I decorated the page with cute designs from Rachel Jefferies and Lynn Grieveson, Share Mixed Media Project Kit.
My February page is decorated with Winter Solstice [Mega Collection] by Pixel Giraffe Design. I plan to decorate as I go along with seasonal designs from The Lilypad.
This project was really easy and made with just paper, glue and binder rings. If you’re looking for a calendar for the New Year, give it a try!

What an awesome way to have a little extra color and fun to your calendar! Love it!
