It is a bit cold and dreary in March where I live and I have really hit the photography slumps. It happens every year around this time: it is post-holidays and pre-spring with a bleak landscape, which leaves me with not a lot of interesting photography subjects. I still want to pick up my camera and photograph things, but I get stuck on what to photograph. So in an attempt to recapture my photography mojo, I turn to prompts.
Prompts are words or phrases that can be used to trigger the imagination and inspire me to think outside of my photography box and just start pushing the shutter button. Often simply hitting “click” and capturing an image will lead to capturing many more images and can thus reclaiming some of my lost mojo. I find that prompts can be a great tool for practicing the art of photography and cultivating creativity. Prompts can be interpreted any way you chose so think literally and figuratively and see what develops! Here is a list of photography prompts for the month of March – I hope you enjoy them and join me in using them to recapture our photography mojo!
Let me know if you were inspired by any of these prompts and how you used them to capture your world around you this month – I’d love to see your photos!
