I love fall. I mean, seriously love fall. I love the cooler temperatures, the warm color palette, pulling out jeans and sweatshirts, etc. There are certain things I always do in September that usher in the new season.
First, I pull out the fall candles. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin from Bath and Body Works is my absolute favorite. I light the big 3-wick candles, and I plug in the wallflowers (here’s bonus info: B&BW has their 3-wick candles 2 for $20 this week).
Next, I bring out my fall decor. Sometimes it’s as involved as decorating the table, mantle, any surface I can get my hands on. Sometimes it’s as simple as pulling out a great wreath (or making a new one – this one is calling my name). Maybe it’s just setting out some pumpkins on the porch!
Finally, I start baking. What is it about cooler weather (and all the pumpkin recipes floating around on Pinterest) that make me so excited to bake? I love baking cookies and having them hot and ready when the kids get home from school. These pumpkin pull-apart muffins look like a great recipe to try, and it doesn’t seem like you can go wrong with pumpkin chocolate chip brownies. But my favorite get-ready-for-fall recipe is by our very own Gina Miller. I LOVE her pumpkin bread and it’s my go-to recipe when I want to make breakfast for the kids or as a homemade gift.
So what do you do to get ready for fall? I’m off to make some pumpkin bread!
