Journal Pad: Newspaper Style

Welcome to another issue of the Journal Pad.

Are you a soccer mom?  Do you bring your camera to every game and happily shoot away at the goal line?  I do.  I have so many soccer shots and related anecdotes that I don’t know what to do with them.  I don’t like constantly putting soccer shots in my P365 album nor do I like to over saturate my yearly albums with a hundred soccer photos.  I’ve been thinking of doing little soccer albums for each of my son’s seasons.  I thought I’d start with a scrapbook layout as a title page followed by several pages of photos.  I’ve been struggling with what type of layout to do as it was going to be both photo and journaling intensive. With those two criteria in mind, I started searching the web for inspiration and I came up with this.

Taking this poster as inspiration, I came up with this layout for one of my son’s soccer games.

For this layout I used Sahlin Studio’s Grunge kit.  Considering I have two boys, I think I’ll be coming back to this kit time and time again.  I also used Kate’s Beautiful Game Doodles.  The fonts I used were Futura Condensed Bold, Myriad Pro, Akzelerat Condensed, and Traveling Typewriter.

I hope you enjoy the inspiration and use it to be your family’s reporter.

Have a great Monday!
