Organizing Yourself for 2017

Now that we are on the back end of MOC5, I have really started to think about organizing myself for successful memory keeping in 2017. Every year, I try to start out fully organized and ready to go. This year was a little different because I started my year with MOC5, but now I am ready to get myself together and jump right in. Here are three things that I am working on to prepare myself for successful memory keeping in 2017.
Set Up Your Photo Organization – This has been a life saver for me throughout the years. There is nothing worse than having to remember to upload and then organize photos. About two years ago, I started using automation to both upload my photos and organize them using Dropbox and Lightroom. Check out that post:

Purge your Supplies – Over the years, I have really started to understand who I am as a scrapper. I scrap with mostly kits, and often don’t use the kits again. They have to be really basics or for a specific topic that I scrap often (Disney) for me to keep them. So to start the year, I purge the old supplies that I won’t be using into 2017. I wrote about tips for purging your supplies here on the blog, too. Check out that post:

Set Goals – Goal setting has become huge for me in all aspects of my life. I find that setting goals, both big and small helps to keep me focused and on track. This year, I’m starting to think about how many layouts I’d like to complete and setting some goals in terms of other aspects for TLP. Monica wrote a great post about setting goals a few weeks back, you can check that out here:

All in all, it usually takes me a few hours to get myself set up for 2017, but it’s worth it in the long run. When I am organized and focused, I can get a lot more done and enjoy myself a lot more. Disorganization is my enemy, and when I am disorganized, I can’t function properly – these tips are integral to my success.
