March Challenges
Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen back again with a look at our new batch of monthly challenges for March. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!! Pretty great, right?! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Random Challenge – The first challenge for this brand new month of March is the Random Challenge hosted by Ashley (ashleywb). Ashley’s challenge to you is to pick out a themed kit and the scrap a page that has nothing to do with that theme. This is a super fun way to stretch your stash! Ashely chose a running kit to create this fabulous non-running layout:
2. Scraplift Challenge – The next challenge for this month is the Scraplift Challenge hosted by Christa (cfile). Christa has selected the fabulous gallery of one of our newer Pollys Marijke. Simply pick one layout from Marijke’s Gallery and then create your own scraplifted version. Here is a look at the layout Christa picked from Marijke’s Gallery followed by Christa’s scraplifted version:
3. Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for March is being hosted by Kiana (LoveItScrapIt) and she is challenging you to spruce up your journaling this month with at least variations of “call-outs” on at least five different words in your journaling. Here’s a great sample layout created by Kiana with her own “call-outs” in her journaling:
4. Style Challenge – This month’s Style Challenge is being hosted by Kayla (keepscrappin) and she would like you to channel the thought of white wintery snow by using a white background on your layout. Here’s a gorgeous sample layout created by Kayla:
5. Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge for March is being hosted by Natasha (bcnatty). Natasha is challening you to capture a new photo this month of either a sunrise or a sunset and then create a layout featuring that photo. Here’s a gorgeous sunrise layout created by Natasha:
6. Inspiration Challenge – The next challenge is the Inspiration Challenge hosted by Jenn (jk703) who is challenging you to create a layout using multiple pieces of washi tape on a layout, at least 6 pieces. Here’s a great sample layout created by Jenn using washi tape:
7. Template Challenge – Next up is the Template Challenge hosted by Courtney (bestcee). The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Allison Pennington and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample that Courtney created using it:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. This challenge will be hosted and posted by Heather (HeatherB) Friday, March 3rd when the BYOC Collection for March will be released in the store. The challenge will be to use 90% of the products on your page from this month’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.

There is your peek at this month’s brand new batch of challenges. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above.
