It's March - already! Seems so fast right? We are going to be inspired by Washi this month! Washi is a traditional Japanese paper, using natural fibers and is hand made. In the digital scrapbooking world, washi is many times, tape. In real life, this tape is decorative, repositionable, textured, colored, and you can write on it. On our scrapbook pages, they usually are a fastener, or a decorative layer. For this March Inspiration challenge, drum roll please..... I want you to use multiple pieces of Washi Tape on your layout, at least 6 pieces. (If you are thinking that it is tricky, it was a little for me too!) Some ideas on how to use them could be: for journaling strips, anchoring photos and frames, filling in gaps in a filled layout, making shapes with it on background papers, creating borders with different colors or designs, and so much more. There's a whole slew of products in the store of tape & Washi. Check it out! I can't wait to see what you create. My six are the striped yellow on the left, the dotted blue and white on the photo, the red patterned below all the papers toward the bottom, and 3 in the corner cluster. Remember our monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the March Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
I used 4 pieces at the top left, three on the photo and another bottom right. Actually loads of fun. Thanks for the challenge
I always get washi tape stuck on my fingers when using it so did a play on the "sticky" by using cacti.
