Happy Month of Luck everyone!! I'm excited to be hosting the Journaling Challenge this month and I think it will be a fun one. As a writer and lover of words in general I'm always looking for fun ways to add journaling to my pages. This month I want you to use "call-outs" in your journaling. Generally speaking, a "call-out" is meant to bring attention to something. In writing or graphic design this is often done with various styles of text ie. bold, italics, underline etc...Or by using heavier weighted fonts with a slimmer font. A pop of color in a letter or word(s) of a phrase. Circling or putting word(s) in a box, using arrows, etc.... All of these are acceptable. This month I want you to journal about anything your heart desires, but you MUST use at least 3 different variations of "call-outs" in your journaling and you MUST "call-out" at least 5 different words. That's it. Here is my page: I chose to write a little poem about my birthday (this month) and I used lots of "call-outs"for visual interest. I used word-strips from the kit, different colors, different fonts, italics and underlines. Now it's your turn. I can't wait to see what creative things you come up with to "call-out" your journaling text. Remember our monthly challenge rules: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the March Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
I used all Capitals, underlining, italics, highlighting with a color, different kerning, changed font and color and various word art styles.
Fun challenge, thank you so much for hosting. Here's my take, full credits in gallery. Wonderful day!
