Make It Monday Split Panel Card

Happy Monday y’all!  Polly Robin here with a Make it Monday Split Panel card to show you.  I needed yet another birthday card and wanted it to have a strong nature feel so I chose to use Lynne-Marie’s Echoes and Embers kit:

This kit has some gorgeous papers and the perfect journal card for my project!  I made my white card base first, printed the journal card and background paper,  and then cut the pieces as shown below:

Next, I cut my journal card into three equal sized pieces like this:

I glued all of those together onto the smaller rectangle and put foam strips on the back of this mat:

Lastly, I adhered it to the white card and added my birthday stamp.  Voila!  This card was easy to make, and I know my niece will love it.

I’m all about memory-keeping that feels meaningful and fun—whether it’s a pocket page, a hybrid card, or a layout packed with photos. My style leans toward hybrid, pockets, and multi-photo storytelling. I love pulling inspiration from the colors and elements in digital kits, letting them guide the feel of a layout. When I’m making cards, I always think about the person I’m creating for and make sure it reflects what they love.

Templates were a huge help when I was starting out, and honestly, they still are. They save time and make it easier to focus on the story or the design without overthinking it. I use Photoshop, Lightroom, and a steady stash of templates for digital scrapping. For hybrid projects, my favorite tools are my Misti, Epson Ecotank printer, and paper trimmer.

Outside of crafting, my favorite thing is traveling with my husband and son. Whether the three of us are off exploring another country or my son and I are backpacking through national parks, we’re usually on the move. Give me adventure over jewelry or clothes any day.
