Make It Monday Clean and Simple Card

Welcome to another Make It Monday blog post. Polly Robin here and today I’m going to show you how to make a fast card. You can use any paper, cutout, or stamp and be done in no time at all! Let me show you what I mean.
I first needed to pick my collection that I wanted to use. Y’all, I have to tell you how much I love the Memory Pockets Monthly More collection. The colors are perfect for masculine cards, so I have been using this kit frequently lately as I have so.many.men in my life!! Today I needed a card to let my son know he’s a special dude and I’m blessed to have him in my life. Here’s the finished card so it’s easier to see how I did it:

To make this, I cut one of the striped pattern papers from the More collection into two pieces, both measuring 1 inch wide by 2 inches tall. I glued those to a 3.75 inch by 5.5 inch piece of cardstock leaving a space between the two pieces. Within that space, I centered one of my son’s favorite verses that was so applicable to the message I’m conveying to him. After that, I cut a leaf die cut three times and stacked them together for dimension. I chose to use a leaf rather than a flower since this is for my son (it also helps that he’s studying environmental science, and his last lab was related to leaves). I then glued the first layer onto a black mat measuring slightly bigger so that a thin frame showed. Both layers were then added to an A2 card base with some dimension tape.
Y’all, that’s it! It didn’t take long, and I actually made several of these cards but left the sentiment off. That way I can quickly add one depending on what the occasion calls for and I’ve got a stash of almost ready-to-go cards. Remember, you could use any element from a kit, or any die cut from your stash for this!
Thanks for reading this post, and I hope you liked my card and that you try this clean and simple card yourself!
