Make It Monday Card

If you are in the US, it’s summertime and boy am I excited as it means more time to make cards!  Polly Robin here to show you the first of many that I’ll be making these next few months – this one is for my father-in-law for Father’s Day.  I always struggle with masculine cards, so I knew I need to start with a kit that was geared more towards the men in my life.  Thankfully, I found one by Joyce Paul Designs and NBK Design called My Man:

My FIL is a very straightforward man, so I knew I needed to keep this card simple.  I sketched out my design in Photoshop as usual and came up with something like this:

Once I figured out the papers and shapes, I printed off all my papers and got to work.

First, I cut my papers as follows: blue background paper 4.25 x 5.5 inches, striped paper 2 x 5.5 inches, gold paper 0.25 x 5.5 inches, and a 2 inch diameter circle from the cream paper.

Then, I used adhesive to adhere the rectangular pieces and added dimension to the circle by using foam tape behind it.

Last, I cut out my title from a die cut I have and used liquid glue to place that on top of the circle.  That’s it!  My card is done.

I actually made several of these and just left off the sentiment from the others in case I need some more masculine cards in the future.  It’s such a versatile design that you could customize it in many different ways, thus stretching your digital products to the max!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my process and think about making your own quick card in the future!
