Here's Your Hashtag - The Lilypad

Remember a couple months back when I posted some tips and tricks that I have learned about hashtags and social media?!?! Since then the TLP fans have been AWESOME about hashtagging their creations, making it easy for me to find and share your work with all our TLP fans!

I had a request last week for a list of the hashtags that I use when posting to the sites IG account. I kinda felt silly that I hadn’t thought of compiling this for y’all before! I decided to include some general hashtags as well as ones specific to us here at TLP.

So without further ado, here she is in all her hashtagging glory.

General Hashtags
#latergram – used when posting a photo at a “later” time. Usually a couple hours to a day after taking the photo.
#throwbackthursday or #tbt – used for sharing photos from years ago
#flashbackfriday or #fbf – same as Throwback Thursday, just on Friday 😉
#followfriday or #ff – used when sharing another account that you think people should follow

Whew what a list! A couple things to remember:
1. No spaces! If you are using a hashtag with multiple words, using the space bar will break your tag.
2. Most punctuation and symbols will not work in a hashtag. Pretty much the only symbol that can be used in a hashtag is an underscore (_). Dashes (-) DO NOT work. So #the_lilypad and #the-lilypad will create two totally different things.
3. Numbers DO work, so if you are captioning a photo with “We are #1” that # and 1 together just created a hashtag!
4. The case of the letter does not matter! #TheLilypad and #thelilypad are the same hashtag! I personally will use capital letters simply so that I can quickly check my spelling.
