Hi friends!! ‘Tis the season for being intentionally thankful and expressions of gratitude! I’m here today to share a project for doing just that.
I wanted a way to record our gratitude as a family and an activity to do with my children. To do this, I created a “gratitude jar”.
This is an activity that we will do together throughout the Thanksgiving season, but one that I hope to continue throughout the year. I used the Thankful Bundle from Sahin Designs to decorate a mason jar and create cards to record what we’re grateful for each day.
First I cut out a strip of the black and white plaid patterned paper to wrap around the jar. I also printed two journal cards, adding the “full of good things” element to one of them.
I used adhesive to attach the patterned paper to the center of the jar and placed a journal card on each side. One side has a journal card that reads “today I’m thankful” and the other side has one that reads “full of good things”.
Then I made small 3×1 inch strips with the “grateful for” word art. I filled a letter sized document with these cards and I have a printable of it for you to use! Just click on the image below:
Each day we will write something that we are grateful for on these strips and place them in the gratitude jar. On Thanksgiving Day, we can open these up and read the things we have been grateful for throughout the season.
What fun it will be to read through all of these and be grateful for the big and small blessings in our lives!!
