@julianz I think you have valid questions and concerns. I mean, technology IS changing all the time. Like Courtney mentioned, I also have a CD stored with a scrapbook so you can watch the scrapbook pages as a slideshow in a DVD player or computer. Now, we don't even have a DVD player hooked up anymore (it's in storage) and none of our newer computers have drives to accept disks! I don't worry, because I have the physical scrapbook there already. So when I make my page with the QR Code, the QR Code will be an enhancement for the page, but I'm not relying upon it to tell the story. And it will be such a small part of my page anyway, that I'm OK with it being there even if it doesn't work in 10 years. I can always remove it and reprint it if I so desire. Hope that helps, and have fun adding a QR Code to your page!
Thanks for this challenge. I've never worked with QR codes before and loved all the ideas you had in your original post! Great challenge!
I loved this challenge Karen, I didn't know you could also use QR codes for memory keeping. Here's my page
OMG, this is so fun! I'vve never done this before and it worked!!!! It's of my son's first time on California Screamin', it's the only video my hubby has uploaded to youtube. thank you so much for this fun challenge @Karen
Here's mine. I don't know why it was so difficult this time...LOL This is for the QR Code Challenge: Items used: Stitching, White Paper Flower Rachel Jefferies "Citroen" elements Rachel Jefferies Butterflies Life is: Feeling Grateful Collab Red flower "Life is: Having a Brother" Collab The Story word art, ink arrow, ink swirl, background papers "Take A Note" Collab Leaves "Carpe Diem" Collab Paint splotch "It's About Time - Today" Collab
Thank you so much for this challenge! I genuinely didn't think I'd like having a QR code my page (or in this case, pocket page spread) until I tried it and now I think I'm hooked.
@Karen My QR code works on my computer, but when I scrunched it down to JPEG and 800x800, it doesn't work now. Will that disqualify me?
This was super fun!! I use QR codes all the time in my PL pages, but rarely on a regular page. I just had to scrap this video of my grandson...it's one of my favorites ever!
@Karen this is going to be a REAL challenge for me. My laptop didn't exactly crash last night, but something went haywire. It "refuses" to recognize our WIFI. After much researching, it seems to be "stuck" on Airplane Mode - which I'm finding out is not too peculiar to Windows 10. I've been working on it ALL day and still haven't gotten it fixed. This is a real challenge because I dug an old laptop out - for internet connectivity - and I'm doing everything else on my regular laptop. I yi yi yi! Of ALL times for something like this to happen. We can't get our repair guy over for a few days. Welcome to my nightmare!! This started last night and I was hopeful that a restart, etc. would fix my problem. Nope!!
when I read the details this AM I have to say I was feeling a bit intimidated. But I read your instructions, I created a QR and my page. And guess what, It Worked!!!!!!! Thank you for the great challenge and for the clear and thorough instructions.
I had to download a QR scanner/reader to my phone since I haven't really used them, but like a few others, this may find it's way onto a few other pages. My QR links to a YOutube video made by my nephew's wife to memorialize their son who passed away at 9 days old of a severe heart defect. It is a beautiful, though obviously sad, tribute to a little boy who was very much loved.
