January 9 - QR Code

full

I used my Asta Paint and Asta Elements

Code links to a newspaper article about the town.

It would be a Smart phone. If your Android is a smart phone then it should work. This was the first time I ever tried it. Perhaps @Karen knows if it works for Androids.

Just catching up finally... yes this should work for androids with cameras built in. Hope that helps! @Tedasgram (Ruth)

I don't worry about it, because my page still tells the story without the code. The code is just extra for me. Like Karen's page tells the story, and the video is an extra bonus.

Sometimes I link to Youtube, google photos, or sometimes I link to my own computer. Funny enough, Youtube and photos are more permanent in that way than my computer. But, I used to include dvd's or cd's of extra photos in the back of scrapbooks. Those are obsolete for most people now. So, at some point, it's possible the link won't work anymore, but until then, it's a fun addition. I typically use them for a photo album, or for video links.

@julianz What she said. I do think that at some time in the future they won't work anymore maybe will look at my books and wonder what that crazy B&W thingie is... but for now I don't care. I love that I can open my scrapbooks and remember that I have a great video to go with a page and I can pull it up and amaze the grandma's at Christmas. :agree

@Karen

My QR code works on my computer, but when I scrunched it down to JPEG and 800x800, it doesn't work now. Will that disqualify me?

Nope! I've had trouble on a few that I've tried scanning on the resized down versions. As long as I can see the QR code on your page, you're good to go! :agree If I'm feeling really nosey I might ask for the full sized QR code just so I can see the extra info you've added. :)

@Karen this is going to be a REAL challenge for me. My laptop didn't exactly crash last night, but something went haywire. It "refuses" to recognize our WIFI. After much researching, it seems to be "stuck" on Airplane Mode - which I'm finding out is not too peculiar to Windows 10. I've been working on it ALL day and still haven't gotten it fixed.

This is a real challenge because I dug an old laptop out - for internet connectivity - and I'm doing everything else on my regular laptop. I yi yi yi! Of ALL times for something like this to happen. We can't get our repair guy over for a few days. Welcome to my nightmare!! :hairpol This started last night and I was hopeful that a restart, etc. would fix my problem. Nope!!:dizzy:badputer

Oh no!!! I'm so sorry Cheryl! I hope that if you put it to bed and make it think about what it's done to you, all will be fixed in the morning. I can hope for you right? Ugh! This is NOT allowed in January!

Be patient with me as I look at all of your lovely layouts! I want to spend time with each and every one of them and I need to head to bed. I will work my way through the ones I haven't commented on tomorrow. Hopefully I've answered everyone's questions. :)

I asked about making a photoless page; I ended up using 9 photos! It's from my mom's trip to Italy a long long time ago! QR code links to Wikipedia.

Thanks so much, Karen. I'm pretty (beyond) frustrated! It's been one heck of a day! Hopefully, we can get somebody out here quickly. I'm using an old laptop that has been in the closet for over a year because my DD lost the charger (it's hers). It's an ASUS and of course, those openings aren't like any other openings. We were finally able to locate a new charger this afternoon.

Good news is - I was able to generate my QR code on my phone off of one of my YouTube videos. I'm also downloading PSCC - so hopefully I can limp along for a few days.

You know my immediate reaction was "Oh! Share some music!" but for the life of me I couldn't come up with a page for any of the songs I wanted to use.

Then I stumbled across this picture and it all came together. I spent a lot of time at Cumberland Falls in the mid to late 80's and it's a delight to pass along a link to the wonders you can find there.

(I did check the code and it works fine but let me know if there is a problem.)

It was good to be able to scrap another page for my childhood album.
the QR code will hopefully take you a website where you can learn about the history of the canon.

This is so much fun!! I love my 1 second clips but never really knew how to include them in my layouts. Thank you for an awesome challenge!

It’s been a long time since I’ve added a QR code to a layout, I should do it more often! Thanks for the push Karen and hey I hope it works for you, I’m pretty sure my settings are okay but let me know if it doesn’t work :)
