January 9 - QR Code

does it work with vimeo? and if password protected do you just show the password in the scarpbook page journaling so people can see the video that look at your page? i am a bit confused since i have never done this before but it does sound like a great thing to learn about

i got the QR code and it works but when it goes to the link it says this is private and there doesnt seem to be a way to put in a code to unlock the private . this is using my iphone to use the QR and my you tube video

thanks for the challenge, I loved to learn a new thing! I don't think you can open the qr code on the photos, but the one I created takes you to a page that has a part of explanation of the project in English...there's one photo I took on the wall art.

I really try to make things that I link to, not be password protected so I don't have to deal with how to save the password. When I upload to YouTube I make my video "unlisted" so they don't show up when people search YouTube, but when I link to them, they aren't password protected. Maybe that would work better than Vimeo? I'm not super familiar with that platform.

are there any free ways to do this. the link you have the program isnt free

Hmmm.... I've used that QR code generator place for years and never had to pay for anything, so I'm not sure why it isn't free for you? Weird!

Maybe trying switching the video to unlisted instead of private from YouTube. That should fix it for you.

qr code goes to the cutest thing I've ever seen- preschoolers singing it's a small world! It links to my google photos- hopefully it works for other people!

@Karen, I got the app on my iphone to work, I did get a video to open up on one, but it keeps going to ads and gets stuck on things I can't get out of. Now it won't let me scan because of these popups! I have an appointment with my neurologist today at 2:30. I may have to give up on this one! This is SO frustrating when I can't figure out how to do something simple!!! Thank you for your help!

I'm sorry you're struggling. Is there anything I can help you with today?

Thanks for this interesting challenge, Karen. I often use the QR codes but never had the idea to include them in a layout. The scan goes to the wiki site of the Eiger and it works even the code is very small on the page.

The link you gave is free as long as you're just linking to a website URL or YouTube video - the first two choices on the list in Step 1. All the others require a paid subscription.

QRcode

dunno what happened to the link in the page *sigh*
it is linked to the QRcode above :blush
it may just be my phone, I can't even get voicemail to work on the dang thing

This links to my Youtube channel that is private, I think, but it is a video of the performers that we were watching.

attention all... please read this .... i loved learning about the QR code and after a bit of a challenge i was able to do it and also had changed my status of a youtube video so that anyone with link could see it . it worked perfectly . i tried it a few times. it is a slide show that i make for each of my grandkids first birthday of photos from their first year. i just got an email from goggle/youtube that it violated their rules about children

How your content violated the policy
We have zero tolerance for predatory behavior on YouTube. Content that sexualizes minors in any way is not allowed on YouTube.

i have appealed it but now it wont work and i cant change it to private etc. and i was so excited to coordinate his birthday photos in this scrapbook page with his slide show. ugh. i dont know now what to do or how i can share the slide show. maybe with vimeo? i dont know and am not happy right now. i was so happy with the layout and about to share with my adult kids ( the parents of the birthday boy and aunts ) i hope you can still accept my layout and hoping this get cleared up with you tube. does anyone have suggestions?

i have now redone the QR code to link it to animoto the site i use to make my slide shows and it is working

For me the problem isn't making the QR code - it's about coming up with an idea for this....:plotting

What a lovely challenge! I hope I'll remember to do this with more layouts from now on!
For this challenge I created a layout about the theater show my brother went to with his family. It was a very fun and interactive show. The QR-code in this layout leads to a small video that shows how enthusiastic my little nephew was during this show. It's so adorable to see!

Thanks for the great challenge Karen! I made this page for MOC and for the slow scrap:
