January 17: Username (Journaling)

Hmmm...150 words, huh? I'm another who could do this with 150 characters. There's no real story behind my username or my real name, and I don't have any nicknames that aren't just variations of my name. LOL-Prepare yourselves to be bored with my rambling!

ditto that for me.. it's my REAL name. LOL. My mom named me this... and I'm not really sure why. The End.

Oh I love this idea...it takes a lot less than 150 words though lol
Another great challenge!

Here is mine (185 words):

Journaling:
My username is MsCarolina. Carolina is my given name. I go by the Spanish pronunciation “kah-ro-LEE-nah” and my nickname is “Caro”. Both my parents were Chinese immigrants in Venezuela and they felt that I’d be teased a lot in school if they gave me Chinese name. My dad used to tell me about the “legend” of how Chinese name their kids. They would throw a few metal cans down the stairs and the sounds produced would become the name of the child. At the time I was born, Caroline of Monaco was a popular public figure and my dad decided on Carolina, the name of a princess.
Carolina is the Latinate feminine form of the Medieval Latin male name, Carolus – which would eventually evolve into the English and French form of Charles. The name ultimately comes from the Germanic word “Karla” who means ‘free-woman’. Other meanings of Carolina are: Song of Happiness, Joyous Song, Strong and Beautiful Woman.
A famous real-life person named Carolina is the fashion designer, Carolina Herrera. We also share the same initials “CH” and were born in the same country, Venezuela.

ETA: I fixed the words - It's now at 151.

I'm going to have to spend some time reading everyone's stories. What fun that'll be! Here's my page - and I stole your kit idea, Courtney :-) Thanks! <3

After my son was born in 1998 I joined an online quilting bulletin board as a way to meet other quilters from around the world. The only problem was I needed a username & the best I could come up with was "QuiltyMom" since I was a quilter and mom. Yeah, I know. It's very original, but it worked! Fast forward a few years and I'm starting to join digital scrapbooking sites, which also need a username. I thought about trying to come up with something that would work for digi-scrapping, but I ended up using QuiltyMom simply because I couldn't figure out what else to use. I've also found other people outside of the digi-scrapping world are using QuiltyMom (boo! hiss! Shame on them!). Seriously people? Couldn't you come up with something more original? Ha-ha! But from where I stand, I'm still The Original QuiltyMom. And now you know.
