Cinnamon Roll Turkey Treat!

Hello Pad Scrappers!

Polly Liana here, excited to share a little food craft that I make every Thanksgiving morning for my family. It’s cute, pretty easy and tides them over until the big meal. Here’s a photo of it:

Cute, huh? Here’s What you need:

  1. a package of bacon (turkey bacon is fine)
  2. a package of four full-size cinnamon rolls (make sure there is frosting)
  3. Eight candy eyes (about 1/4 inch in diameter)
  4. four candy corns (I prefer the autumnal-colored ones)
  5. four toothpicks

And here’s how I made it:

  1. Cook a package of bacon until it’s crispy. The tail won’t work if it’s floppy!
  2. Bake a package of cinnamon rolls according to the directions on the package.
  3. After you take out the rolls from the oven, carefully cut off the last 1.5 inches from each roll
  4. Lay the small bits of 1.5 inch roll on their sides and, using a little bit of the frosting as “glue,” adhere the eyes and candy corn beak to the piece of roll. Let it cool completely and frost the rest of the rolls while you’re waiting
  5. Break the bacon in half and tuck four of the halves cut-side down between the outermost layers of each roll (as shown in photo)
  6. Ensure that the eyes and beak are stuck to the pieces of roll, then use a toothpick to stand them up opposite the tail, as shown.
  7. Enjoy!
