Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen back again to give you a quick overview of all the new challenges for June. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!! Pretty great, right?! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Template Challenge – Heather (HeatherB) is hosting the Template Challenge for August. The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Liz of Scrapping with Liz and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample that Heather created:
2. Style Challenge – The Style Challenge for August is hosted by Natasha (bcnatty) and she is challenging you to create a layout that is mostly B&W with pops of one color to add visual excitement. Here is a gorgeous layout Natasha created as an example:
3. Scraplift Challenge – This month’s Scraplift Challenge is hosted by Ashley (ashleywb) and she is doing one of my absolute favorite types of scraplifts… a paper to digi challenge. Simple find a paper scrapbook layout that you love and then create your own scraplifted digital version of it. Ashley even created a Pinterest board of some of her favorites if you need help finding a paper layout to lift. Here’s a look at the paper layout Ashley lifted, followed by her own scraplifted version:
4. Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge for this month is hosted by Em (Justagirl). Em is challenging you to create a layout that includes a panoramic photo on it. She even shows a great tip on how to create a panoramic photo from a photo you may have already taken. Check that out in the forum HERE. Here’s a peak a Em’s fabulous panoramic layout:
5. Inspiration Challenge – Christa (cfile) is hosting this month’s Inspiration Challenge. She would like you to draw inspiration from the fabulous quote: “Life is like a camera. Just focus on what’s important & capture the good times. Develop from the negatives & if things don’t work out, just take another shot!” See below for a great sample layout created by Christa, who was inspired by the B&W colors, the camera references and word focus:
6. Journaling Challenge – I’m the lucky Polly (Karen) that gets to host the journaling challenge for August. I love to journal and I love to remember things that make me happy, so I’m challenging you to create a layout with journaling about something that makes you happy! Here’s a layout I created about a new table saw that I recently acquired that I’m so happy about:
7. Random Challenge – The Random Challenge for August is hosted by Jenn (jenn mccabe). Jenn would like to challenge you to create a layout that incorporates at least 3 patterned papers. Here’s a gorgeous sample that Jenn created with some fabulous patterned papers:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. This challenge will be hosted and posted by Jenn (jk703) on Friday, August 7th when the BYOC Collection for August will be released in the store.
