Hello pad scrappers!!!
I was inspired by the lovely goodies in today’s SOSN to create an art journaling layout using a more traditional template. I love combining an artsy art journaling layout with a template that is more traditional and paper-inspired.
For this, I combined a template from Strips & Stripes vol. 1 by Designed by Soco and Artsy Papers and Elements from Little Butterfly Wings’ add-on to the Mixed Media Monthly from October 2020.
I often include a selfie or an illustration representing myself on my art jouraling pages. For this page, I decided to use an illustrated element and placed it in a frame on the template.
I used a solid paper for the background in the framed illustration and for the background on the layout.
Next, I clipped patterned papers to each of the strips of paper on the template.
Finally, I had fun placing embellishing the layout with brushes, word art and floral elements.
If you haven’t played with art journaling by combining it with a more traditional template, I definitely encourage you to give this a try! It can take some of the intimidation out of art journaling.
