Giving Hybrid Another Chance v5

Hiya friends!! HAve you been playing with glue and getting messy with paint yet? 🙂 Well I have been having lots of fun over here! PS, I really love sewing on paper! Its so much fun! Have you given it a try? If you can’t sew with fabric, don’t let that get you down! I can’t either! But paper? Easy peasy, especially when going for that MESSY look! 🙂

So when I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek in the BYOC gallery this month, I spotted this little gem: 

 

Hello Ms. Valorie Wibbens, thank you for this beauty, but really? Must I see it at 9 o’clock at night? You know I had to download it and work on it all night until I went to bed. This project was just too inspired to sleep on it 🙂 So off I went! First off I needed to decide what yummy papers I was going to use with this!

 

And then I thought that journal cards in the shop would be a perfect addition!

 

And just for fun I had to add these adorable labels!

 

I used the lovely templates that Valorie provided in the template pack! This made it super easy and just so much fun!

I decided to make a mini project life for my husband (deployed) to send him, and catch him up on our every day life. Then I wanted to make sure to include “highs” and  “lows” of our everyday.  This is something we do at dinner to catch up with eachother some people call it “worst” & “best” or “rose” and “thorn”, I love the perspective it brings.

Here is the cover (sorry its so blurry, I am not sure what happened here LOL). I just used an overlay for the cover and some little extra goodies.

 

I had so much fun (even though it took me until 12:45 to get it just right 🙂 )

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
