Make It Monday See-Through Card

Happy end of September y’all!  I cannot believe this is the last week of September already.  Seriously. Where does time go???  Well September doesn’t mean any cooler temperatures where I live, so I’m still inside creating!  Polly Robin here with another Make It Monday blog post.  Today I’ll show you how I made a see-through card for my niece.  I used Coffee Vibes by Rachel Etrog because my niece is ALL about her coffee (like her aunt hehe).

The first thing I did was print my background paper and my two solid colors.  I love printing my solid papers because I know they will match my patterned paper, and I don’t have a bunch of cardstock scraps lying around in my cramped craft space.  I also cut out my coffee cups – aren’t they adorable??  My coffee paper is 4.25 x 5.5 inches, and my strips are ¼ inch and ½ inch wide:

Next, I cut a piece of acetate 3 inches wide and layered my paper strips at an angle as shown:

I glued my coffee paper to my card base and then I used the acetate piece as a template to cut my card front into two pieces:

I used my acetate piece to connect the two card front pieces which gives me a see-through window.

Finally, I stamped my acetate with my sentiment and used foam squares to adhere my two coffee cups.  She will love this card, but she’ll love the Starbucks gift card inside it more I think 😊

Thank y’all for taking time to see how I made my see-through birthday card!

  1. Love the angled see thru panel as a way to anchor your sentiment & elements! So the acetate is ‘sandwiched’ between the strips right?! So the inside of the card has those strips & the mirror image/back side of the stamped sentiment visible?
