Father’s Day Cards

Hello friends!!

Father’s Day is coming up this weekend and I’m so excited to share two cards I made for my kids to give their dad. I made these cards using Super Dad elements, words and papers by Paula Kesselring.

Whenever I’m making cards, I try to make two because two A2 sized cards can easily be cut from one letter sized paper.

I wanted these cards to have a sentiment using the Super Dad Words on the inside, so I created that first. I used grid lines to place these on a letter sized paper before printing.

After printing, I cut the paper in half, scored and folded to create two landscape A2 (5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″) sized cards.

Next, I created two 3.25 x 4.5″ sized documents to design the front of the cards using the Super Dad elements and papers. After I finished the designs for these, I flattened the images and placed them on a letter sized document for printing.

I printed these and used a paper trimmer to cut them out.

Then I used my paper trimmer to cut out two 3.75″ x 5″ sized rectangles on red cardstock paper for layering.

I used adhesive to layer the card base (with sentiment on the inside), red cardstock, and designed card front.

Here are the two completed cards with the inside sentiments:

I am absolutely in love with these cards, but most importantly, I think my husband is going to be delighted to receive them on Sunday.

If you’re looking for a simple and fun card to make for Father’s Day this weekend, I suggest you give this a try!
