Summer Recap Layout Ideas

Even though I don’t want to admit it, summer has quickly come to an end. September is around the corner, and I start school tomorrow. It’s so hard to say goodbye to so many great summer memories. Making a summer recap layout can help preserve those memories and keep the party going all through the fall.

There are a couple of options for creating a great recap layout. Today I am going to share with you a few of those options with templates from the store and talk about the advantages of each style. Let’s take a look.

Lots and Lots of Photos

One of the most common layout ideas for recap layouts is to use an abundance of photos. This can be great if you have a lot of photos to showcase, and you aren’t concerned with adding a whole lot of journaling. I especially like using this style layout at the beginning of a collection of recap layouts or if I really want to get a recap done quickly. There are a few great options in the store. One of my favorites is this set of templates by Jaimee. They make it so easy to get a ton of photos on one layout.

Double Page layouts

A recap is a great reason to use a double page layout. I don’t use them often, but find that the size and the amount of photos included really help to create a great recap page. The advantage to this style of layout is that you can use regular sized pictures and still include a good amount of them. There are some great double page layout templates in the store. I love these ones by Fiddle Dee Dee Designs. I like the option of using a large photo, and the use of elements is great.

Summer Specific Layouts

Now, these don’t always have room for a lot of photos, but using a template that is specific for summer can be a great way to get that summer feel on your pages. I think this style of layout would work really well with one of the other template styles we have already talked about. Hands down, my favorite summer themed templates are by Scrappin’ with Liz. I love the use of the summer title work here.
