Greetings Happy Scrappers!
Polly Liana here to talk about styles. No, not hair styles or clothing styles but styles for your layouts. You may already be familiar with the wonderful shadow styles that are in our shop. They can save you tons of time by automatically adding appropriate shadows to your different elements. Here are some examples.
If you’ve never used shadow styles, take my word for it: give them a try. You can still tweak them after they’re added and they really add lots of great dimension to your pages.
Besides the shadow styles, there is another kind of style that may have flown under your radar: surface styles. When you purchase a set of these and install them, they will automatically transform the surface of any paper or element to you chosen style. When I found Sahlin Studio’s Violet Frost and Just Jaimee’s Merry and Bright Bling Glitter Styles, everything on my pages wanted to sparkle. They’re so easy to use! Just select the paper, layer or element you want to transform and click the style. That’s it!
Here are a couple of pages I created using these glittery styles. They’re terrific to use on alphas and paint layers. Here, I used them on the alpha, the banner and the snowflake and circle:
And here I used them on the alpha and the black frames:
Here are some other styles you might want to try. They’ll transform any surface into wood, foil, texture, kraft, plastic and even ice and playdoh! Check out these examples:
The possibilities are totally endless! I love having the flexibility to add them to different elements and layers to add cohesion to a layout. They can transform anything you want into whatever surface suits your layout. Check them out here, along with actions, presets and other transformative tasks in Photoshop.
Happy Scrapping!
