Hey all, Sarah here with another planner post. This time I thought it would be fun to show you some planner boxes that I created for my Happy Planner from various different digital elements.
I’m using Just Jaimee’s Storyteller Luka Collection for my planner pages.
I’ve talked about it before in my planner posts but I love using 4″x6″ journal cards for my boxes. They can be resized for a perfect fit inside my planner. I sometimes use 3″x4″ cards scaled down as well but they won’t always work for the size of my planner boxes. I suggest playing around with different size cards and see what works for your planner.
I also love taking journal cards and adding a digital stamp or flat element to the card to give it a different look.
Filler cards are also great for adding some color and fun graphics to your pages.
If the kit you are working with includes graph, ledger or other notebook papers they can be a great way to add a fun space for writing. I also use other patterned papers to add interest to page (such as the hearts, chevrons and stripes you can see in my full page spread).
3″x4″ journal cards make a great foundation for half boxes in my particular planner. Here I stacked two to create a full box.
Digital paint can be a great way to add some color as well.
Of course, I still added my patterned paper strips, bullets, labels and other fun elements to create pages that are so much fun to plan and journal on.
Do you create decoration for your planner from digital supplies? If so, I’d love to hear about the supplies you use and how you use them in your planner.

Sarah, I’ve loved reading your planner posts, and have come back to them a couple times as I have entered into planner craze! I actually JUST uploaded my first two planner spreads, 100% hybrid, into the TLP Gallery… Here’s one:
https://the-lilypad.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=223084&title=november-planner-pages&cat=521
I actually scanned in my planner spread for both the month and the week spreads, because I couldn’t find a template for my size planner (I have compact size Franklin Covey 365 planner). So… after I scanned my spreads in, I made a template. now, all I will need to do is clip papers, colors, and elements each month/week I’m ready for new decorations. I also created a template for the pieces, if I really felt like cutting out each piece individually and gluing/adhering separately. :)
Journal cards are a bit too big for my planner, but scaling them down might be an option. I’ve already thought about making them bookmarks… and I’m trying to think of other ways I may be able to incorporate more of these types of things….
