Hi everyone, Sarah here with another planner post. I’m using the new March Madness Planner Collection Monthly kit for these pages, and I’m going to talk about how I insert new pages into my MAMBI Happy Planner.
My first step was to decorate my pages as I normally do with all sorts of amazing goodies from the collection. If you follow me at all you know I typically do small dots to bullet my most important tasks for the day. I thought it would be fun to use the numbers included in the kit for that purpose this week.
Next I chose one of the Happy Planner sized inserts from the collection and added bits and pieces from the kit to create a fun bit of extra space to write down things I want to remember. I made sure to leave a margin so that there would be room to punch the holes so that I could add it to my planner. I printed this out on white cardstock and cut to size.
I don’t have a specific punch for this system yet so I thought it would be fun to show you a step by step of how you can add pages to a disc bound planner without having to have specialty tools. The only things you need are a pen, a standard sized hole punch, a pair of scissors and a page from your planner (you should be able to remove your page by grabbing the opposite corner from your spine and gently lifting that paper up and away from your book).
To begin I lined up my insert with a page from the planner and made a small mark with the pen so I would know where to punch.
I centered my punch over the mark and punched a hole for each mark I’d made.
The last step is to take a pair of scissors and make two small cuts leaving enough space to account for the interior of the discs.
Here it is in my planner.
For the back I used the same insert but left it plain so that I could add doodles or larger notes.
You can use a method similar to this to add removable pages to your spiral or ring bound planners as well. However, since you don’t have to account for the disc you can just make a single cut from the edge of the page to the hole. Do you add custom pages to your planners? If so I’d love to see them.
