Hi scrappy friends!! It’s Monica here to share a little bit about my Photoshop Workspace Setup.
One of my favorite things about Photoshop is the ability to personalize it to suit me as a scrapbooker. I love that I can arrange and rearrange panels in my workspace so that it is suited just right for the way I like to work.
Today I’m going to show you how I have my workspace set up, but I would also like to encourage you to get on Photoshop (if that’s the program you use) and play around with it to arrange your own workspace just right for YOU!
First up, here’s a screenshot of how my workspace is set up.
On the left-hand side, I have all of the tools that I use. Then on the right-hand side, I have two groups of panels. On the inner right, I have a panel for layers and history. I can click on each tab at the top to show that individual panel. On the far right, I have a panel for styles and actions. Below these, I also have a character panel that I use when working with text.
To set up your workspace, it’s easiest to start with a preset. You get to the presets by clicking Windows > Workspace > Graphic and Web (lots of people choose Essentials here, but I use “Graphic and Web” as my starting point).
Some of the most important panels you’ll want to have easy access to as a scrapbooker are layers, history, styles, actions, character, and paragraph. You can see all of the options you have available in the window option across the top of your screen.
I would suggest selecting each of these to see which are helpful for you to have. You never know what you’ll find!!
When you have your workspace set up as you like, you can save it. To do this, go to Window > Workspace > New Workspace. Give your workspace a name, select all the options to capture and save.
Don’t be afraid to play around with the various options as you set up your workspace. Play around and see what works for you based on the panels and tools that you use the most as a scrapbooker.
Do you have a workspace set up that you love? You can share yours in the comments here…I would love to see if there’s something I’m missing out on!
