Hello all my artsy friends! I am dropping in on this Oh-So-Fabulous SOSN Wednesday with some peeks at some of the goodness on sale today and a quick tip for making custom titles and word art for your layouts.
Have you ever created a page and had a specific title design or 3D word art in mind, only to find that the kit alpha (which is fabulous in its own right) just doesn’t fit with your theme? The quickest way to create your own custom title or word art is to take your favorite font and add a digital style to it. Take a look at this page (made with goodness from today’s SOSN sale):
Notice the “Trust” word art on the page? That was made by applying a weathered wood style (similar to THIS ONE by Mommyish Designs) to one of my favorite title fonts (True North).
You can also just clip digital papers to your words and add a slight bevel to give it a 3D effect. You can see this technique on this page:
I clipped a piece of digital wood paper to the word “Paris” and phrase “Is always a good idea.” The font I used is called “Brilliant.” I also added a slight bevel with the following settings:
And it was as easy as that! I hope you have fun creating your own custom titles and word art with these techniques. :)
Until next time ~
Judie (HeyJude)
