Hello everyone!! Let’s see check out the latest craze!! It’s the Loom Craze that is everywhere in the internet. I am totally crazy over things which are colorful and trendy. And the Rainbow Looms caught my attention a month ago. The Rainbow Loom is a plastic pegboard measuring 2 inches (51 mm) by 8 inches (200 mm).It has push pin-type pegs over which small, colored rubber bands are looped and pulled by a rainbow loom crochet hook. The resulting looped knots, known as Brunnian links, can be assembled on the loom into bracelets and other shapes. The Rainbow Loom kit includes a pegboard, a rainbow loom hook, 24 special C-shaped clips, and 600 small rubber bands in assorted colors.
This is the Bracelet Loom Deluxe Kit
I remember when I was a child, I would save up extra money to buy those normal rubber bands and made them in to skipping ropes. So I was really at awe when I saw that those colored rubber bands could be transform into so many other things.
Here are a few bracelets with different designs and I have seen girls using it to make other creative stuffs like cute little animals.

Anything that keeps kids busy with their hands is a winner in my book.. They could do this all day by sharing elastics, bracelets, ideas, sharing You Tube tutorials (there are lots of tutorials online) and I do think it does help in creativity. Oh!! It can be given as gifts too!! You should visit their FB page to see all the cool things (trust me you will be blown away with what they come up with ) to make and your kids can put their stuff up there too to show it to people.
Few things to look out for : The official rainbow loom is safe. There are copies and imitations that are not rainbow loom. You can tell a real rainbow loom because there is a special bar code on the box and code that is on the bottom of the loom and the hook and it says Rainbow Loom with a capital R in a circle in the corner and a patent number next to it. It is safe because if it breaks, it has controlled breakage and doesn’t break in a sharp point. It also has safe rubber bands, that are nontoxic and latex free that i have to have. Their packages feel different too. They’re not hard but spongy which means they’ll stretch and not break on the loom.
I have a confession, I have not gotten my hands on it yet because I am just too afraid that I might get addicted to it!! But I’m sure it will be on my must buy list when I get my next pay check!! And knowing me I will be creating some quirky and unique stuff out of it. What about you? What have you created so far? Is it difficult? Once you have completed creating something, what do you do with it? Do share with us what you have created and link us to it. I am looking forward to seeing more new designs.

what a great post- thank you for all the information! I had just purchased my boys a “knock-off” loom kit as we were running out of things to do before school started… We could not get it to work and sure enough, one of them broke on us! They want to make them for their soccer team in the team colors, which I thought was a great idea so I’ll be off to Michaels/Hobby Lobby to see if I can buy the “official” loom kit- and then check out your Loom Craze TLP Board! Thanks again!
