Community member Heather_dw recently asked a great question in the Chatty Pad that I want to discuss here a little bit. She is getting back into digital scrapbooking after being away for a while and is looking to build up her stash of supplies. I remember my own days of being a new digi scrapper with limited supplies.
She was given lots of great advice in the forum where great advice is always freely given! I would like to discuss several ways that new and returning digi scrappers can build a stash of products without breaking the bank.
{one} Subscriptions
The Lilypad offers three monthly subscriptions that are excellent for building up supplies! These subscriptions can fit a variety of styles and each is brimming with product for a relatively low price.
Storyteller is a monthly digital collection by Just Jaimee. Each month this collection includes 100+ elements, 30+ word art, 40+ digital papers, 20 pocket cards in various sizes, a flair and tape pack, templates, mixed media paint, alphas and more!! These collections are so fun and perfect for lots of scrapbooking projects! One collection can be used throughout the month. There are several different payment options for your subscription to Storyteller.
Memory Pockets Monthly is a monthly collection created by several of our designers that contains journal cards and coordinating embellishments around a central theme. There are also add-ons from each of the designers that coordinate with the main kit that are available for a discounted price when you subscribe to Memory Pockets Monthly. Like Storyteller, there are a variety of payment options available for this subscription.
Mixed Media Monthly is available for scrappers with more of a mixed media style. This is a collection of mixed media products centered around a theme. Like with Memory Pockets Monthly, there is a main kit and designer add-ons available for a reduced price and there are several payment options.
{two} Shop the Sales
The Lilypad offers two sales each week and special sales throughout the month and year.
Every Wednesday there is a sale called SOSN (something old, something new) and all the products available during this sale are 50% off. On Fridays new products are released and are on sale throughout the weekend. If you’re looking to save and stick to your budget, plan to do your shopping during these sales!
Some special events throughout the year that you can look forward to in which there are lots of sales and events where you can earn store discounts and coupons are Christmas in July (coming up soon!), Document Your December, iNSD (interNational Scrapbook Day), and DSD (Digital Scrapbook Day).
{three} Free Products Section
There is an entire section of the store dedicated to FREE Products! There are a variety of products here and they are updated from time to time.
{four} Follow Designers
Follow your favorite Lilypad Designers on social media, through subscribing to their newsletters and on their blogs. This is a great way to connect with them and get to know them. It’s also a great way to add to your stash through specials they offer and your can even earn free products and discounts through participating in their challenges.
There is a spot in the announcement forum where you can find links to every designer here at The Lilypad. Definitely check this out and give them a follow!
Along with these four suggestions, I would also encourage you to participate in events here at The Lilypad as another way to add to and build up your stash. There are monthly challenges, chats and scraps to get involved in that you can use to earn coupons and discounts to the store. When I was building up my own stash, I always made sure to participate in template challenges for a FREE template that I could then reuse.
One of the things I love about digital scrapbooking is how everything can be reused. So, as you build up your stash, let me encourage you to stretch your stash by finding creative ways to reuse what you have.
