Froggy Finds: Templates
Greetings, Pad Scrappers!
Polly Liana here, reminiscing about the past. I’ve been lucky enough to be at the Lilypad for over 13 years and Today, I’m excited to introduce you to something new here on the blog. We’re calling it Froggy Finds and it’s a feature that highlights some oldies but goodies that you might not have seen for a while. This month, we’re focusing on templates.
Templates are an invaluable tool in scrapbooking. For me, templates help me jump start the process by giving me a vision of what the final layout will look like. Follow them closely or loosely, templates are a helpful and affordable way to support your scrapbooking. So let’s jump into the Wayback Machine and unearth some hidden gems from the past.
First off, did you know that our longtime clean and simple designer Sahlin Studio designs templates, too? Here’s a collection with diverse styles and it’s a steal at $5.99 for nine templates! Great for beginning scrappers.
I have always loved her “Paint Swatch” templates because they are fresh and fun and they include great sentiments, too!
One Little Bird is another clean and simple designer that creates fun templates. I am particularly fond of her Photo Pockets:
And her “Flight Plan” series. Here’s a favorite that I reach for when I want to keep things delicate with a lot of breathing room:
Finally, we are featuring templates by long-time designer Valorie Wibbens. Her templates have a twist, as they were some of the first templates at the Lilypad to include built-in styles that create realistic wrinkles, worn spots and shadows on digital papers. Here’s an example from her popular A Bit Worn Topography collection (perfect for Valentine’s day!):
And if pocket scrapping is your thing, she’s got some great pocket templates that look like they’ve got the plastic sleeves:
