I chose my grandmother's charm bracelet which I love because it signifies her love of live theater which introduced me to live theater. The plays she worked on were more exciting than my school plays. I didn't see any of Nana's plays until my parents thought I was mature enough to see those "adult" plays which definitely was NOT in 1964!
JOURNALING: Dan's Grandma Wilda gave me this roasting pan right before she moved into a senior living center. Her husband Ward had just passed away from cancer. She let us choose anything we wanted from her kitchen as she really didn't want to see things leave the family. Every timeI use it, I think of this godly woman and contemplate all the prayers she offered up for her son and his children and grandchildren. She only got to meet Sam and Hannah from our clan, but she loved having them visit. She died in May 1998, shortly after she moved and she is greatly missed. I imagine this well-worn pan will go to Cam someday as he enjoys roasting some meat as much as I do!
@cfile This one first made me think, then made me plan and gather items for a photo; good challenge! I'm pleased with how it all came out and that I got to practice some photography techniques to create the right set-up for the items. Thanks for this one!
Perfectly timed challenge, as we're staying at my parents' house for a little while, so I was able to snap a quick picture of one of my favorite family heirlooms <3
Thanks for the challenge, Christa. I had to do a lot of recoloring, but I love it! I'm not a fan of old stuff. My mom says jokingly that if something isn't made of plastic, I don't like it! journaling: I just love this miniature car. It's not my most valuable possession for sure, but somehow when I look at it, I see all I've ever dreamt, all I am, and all I've never been and never will be. Zoe already loves it. I'd love her to have it one day. Actually she already has it! Most of the times, it's not on my desk but it's with her stuff. January 2023
I thought when I saw this challenge - we have no heirlooms (I know there are some in the family, but none that live with me just yet - still with my parents or grandparents, and I am not much of a keeper of things - we move every few years and try to keep things to a minimum as far as just extra things). Then I remembered our Christmas stockings, that I hope become new heirlooms. I also realized I don't have great pictures of them - will have to change that next Christmas (they are in the attic with the other decorations so I couldn't snap new ones right now but definitely will be sure I have that on my list to do in Dec. because I also don't have pictures of the pups' stockings with ours - which are of course also cross-stitched because my kids of course immediately asked after adopting each pup about the stocking for our new family members which I loved) MOC 11 Challenge 7 Heirloom by wvufan04 posted Jan 9, 2023 at 8:39 PM
