This was fun thanks Christa! I'm all about creating my own Heirlooms ... bookish ones obviously Journaling:
When my parents immigrated to Australia, in 1969, they couldn’t really bring a lot of stuff with them from their homes, certainly not treasured family heirlooms that might get damaged on the trip. Because we were a military family, we moved regularly and each time we always did a cull of our belongings to make things easier to pack. One of the first things to go were often our accumulated books, they were just too heavy to lug around from place to place. So because of all this moving around we didn’t have any heirlooms, we just had each other. When I was older , living in my own place, and had a steady job, one of the first things I bought for myself was a Folio edition copy of The Secret Garden. My plan was to fill the bookshelves to bursting with these gorgeous editions to leave to my family, but, as you can see, life, bills and the cost of raising that family, halted my Folio addiction in it’s tracks many years ago. Still, I’m so happy to have these gorgeous editions to hand down to my girls on my passing, as I know that they will love these bookish heirlooms as much as I do.
Lego, ergo sum - I read therefore I am.

What a fantastic page Amanda and I loved reading your journaling. Thank you to your Dad for his military service. Yup being stationed at different places I can understand not accumulating things. I am glad though that once you were married and started your own family, that you were able to build a collection for your girls. I loved the way you scrapped this Amanda. The picture with those vintagy looking books accented with the brad alpha and that cute vintagy cluster of goodies is perfection! Love it! Thank you for sharing and playing along with my MOC11 day 7 Heirloom challenge.
