JOURNALING:
Dan's Grandma Wilda gave me this roasting pan right before she moved into a senior living center. Her husband Ward had just passed away from cancer. She let us choose anything we wanted from her kitchen as she really didn't want to see things leave the family. Every timeI use it, I think of this godly woman and contemplate all the prayers she offered up for her son and his children and grandchildren. She only got to meet Sam and Hannah from our clan, but she loved having them visit. She died in May 1998, shortly after she moved and she is greatly missed. I imagine this well-worn pan will go to Cam someday as he enjoys roasting some meat as much as I do!
Oh wow this is fabulous! What a terrific heirloom and I love that you think of her and smile every time you use it. [Same thing with me :) I make my Aunt's pot roast recipe in mine!] I love the way you scrapped this, with the fabulous papers and elements and your photo of your speckled pan is perfect. I so loved reading about Grandma Wilda's pan. Thank you for sharing and for playing along with the MOC11 Day 7 Heirloom Challenge!
