I have a dream that our Disney trip will happen in Feb. lol. And if so, this will make a great cover page.

I think I met the requirements? I have three papers, three elements and 'my escape' is the name of the world :)

I had the same problem at first. I had to increase the spread, which I usually leave at 0%. For instance my top layer I had:

    Blend Mode: multipy
    Opacity 76%
    Angle: 45°
    Distance: 40 px
    Spread: 18%
    Size: 65 px

All of my layers are slightly different, but you get the idea.

I have a couple of ideas floating around in my head but not sure which one to try and execute...Only problem could be lack of skill to pull these ideas off.

I created a layer from my shadow, then duplicated the shadow layer and nudged the copy up and over so that it looked real and that all sides were shadowed

I know @AnneofAlamo has added shadow instructions. I’m pretty sure those instructions aren’t as easily done if at all using PSE. Has anyone figured out how to do the shadowing for this using PSE?

For PSE, instead of adding a shadow, duplicate your layer.
fill that layer with the desired color of your shadow. black, dark grays or browns.
(This is going to be a fake shadow layer)
    Go to FILTER pull down
BLUR>Gaussian play with the levers and be amazed.
I am almost sure it is there, I am remembering by the seat of my pants.
Blur the layer. Then manipulate it behind your paper. You can erase parts that pop out if need be!
I still do this to get a shadow to work the way my brain sees it.

I made some changes to my first take on this and think my shadows are better now.

So I was planning on using a mushroom as the cut-out shape. I tried to follow your directions, but the layered papers wouldn't line-up right, and then GIMP froze! I had to restart the program and start again so I just went with a circle to create my Spring Forest! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THERE IS ONLY ONE CHALLENGE LEFT!!!
