journaling: I love decorating for Christmas, but I have been doing it along time and I just have too many decorations that I love. A few years ago, as I was looking at my décor, I noticed that I had a bunch of snowmen. I had an idea that I would take out all my snowmen and snow type décor and save it for January. I live in Las Vegas, but I’m from Eastern Oregon and grew up with four seasons and winter was always one of my favorite. I don’t get winter or snow much in Vegas, so decorating my house in January with “Snow” seemed like the perfect solution to me! I love it and it makes me happy. I decided to go with a blue/silver theme for the month and still use typical holiday fillers like ornaments and garland. I really look forward to January now and it makes my heart happy to experience “winter” in Las Vegas. I also feel like it makes my snowmen shine as they are not having to compete with Santa’s and reindeer and nutcrackers etc. They get their own month to be front and center!
Hope the journaling is ok! Writing is way out of my ability! I had to think hard to find something I could write 150 words about. Thanks for the challenge! Day 20 Storytelling 10x10 72 by crlin posted Jan 20, 2019 at 4:13 PM
I had a BLAST scrapping the layout for today. It was like OLB's kit was made for me to scrap this layout! - You'll have to read the journaling to see the Disney connection Journaling - I found my owner on December 25th 2013. I was a gift from her husband and knew instantly I had found the right home. My new owner's name was Michelle and she was a very proud mom of 2 very active little girls. My job was a very important one, to help her capture and save those precious moments that seem to go by so fast (and so do her kids). Azure-lee is the oldest one and she loves to pose for me, or at least she did when she was younger. I love all the bright colours she wears and all the funny things she does. Jessalyn was only 2.5 year old when I showed up and she was all about exploring her little world. She would spend hours playing with her little characters and many doll houses. Dress up time was one of my favourite moments in those early days. In 2017 I was there to help welcome another little girl into the family. As the years went on Michelle learned more about me and started to experiment with setting and began turning off my auto features. I was so excited for her new found freedom and I could finally begin to show her all the amazing ways to capture those memories. Over the past six years we went on so many wonderful adventures. Trips to the park, the zoo, farms and many more. I've seen fireworks, the ocean and the most amazing sunsets you could ever imagine. Out of all the places I've been the most colourful and magical place has to be Walt Disney World. Our trips travelling in the car for two days, seeing the mountains and valleys, visiting so many wonderful little communities along the way. Getting that first look at the castle is captivating. Disney is such a magical place, where colours seem brighter and there are so many things for me to capture. Did you know that Disney has special places just for me? Photo spots - and they are everywhere! Photo spots are locations where I get to help make those moments last forever. 2019 will mark my 5th trip to Walt Disney World and I'm looking forward to seeing even more, capturing even more and holding tight to all those special memories. As the kids grow up it's getting difficult for me to capture all those moments but I'm doing my best. Those kids move fast and now the oldest seems to be a bit shy and hardly wants to see me anymore. I am so happy to be apart of this family and so proud to have such an important responsibility. My work will help everyone in the years to come remember those special moments.
So many things to choose from, but I chose something new - my Ears box. 170+ words by counter (forgot the exact amount - sorry) Thanks for the fun challenge!

I went through a few ideas for objects about which to tell a story. My favorite comfy chair? No, I've made 3 or 4 pages about it already! Maybe my favorite ceramic bowl, which I painted several years ago? My camera? Yes! Great idea. But as I was looking for camera photos, I was inspired by photos of my table and decided to go with that! I don't think I'd ever journaled about my table before, even though we've had it since 1999! And, remembering the talking walls challenge Cynthia @MrsPeel gave us last year for MOC, I decided to write the story from the point of view of the table. Journaling (570 words, down from the original 650 I wrote in my first draft ) is pasted into the gallery caption.
About to catch up with all your wonderful pages. I'm so glad you're enjoying this challenge cuz I just love reading all your stories!
