168 words We went down to the hospital cafeteria to get a drink but the cafeteria was closed. We found the vending area and met up with our first robot vending machine. As with all technology there was a leaning curve on our part. The machine said you could pay with a credit card. Rich followed the steps on the screen and swiped the card when prompted. Nothing hapened. We finnagled around thinking we were going to be charged for a water we did not get. Finally, Rich put bills in and what happened next blew us away. It was like fireworks in a machine. There was so much noise and action. An arm flew out, up, down and over in a matter of seconds with our water in tow. It was startling but fun to watch. Rich checked our card when we got home but there was no charge from our first interaction. We sound like hicks in the big city but this vending machine really was quite an experience.
Thank you this was challenging for me and I love to be challenged. I don't like to journal esp. about my feelings as I have a hard time expressing how I feel. When this prompt popped up I knew I had to share the item that changed my life in the best way. Credits and journaling are included in my gallery post.
1-20-19 Journaling Challenge - StoryTelling - Inanimate Object A little backstory: When my hubby and I first got married he traveled 3-5 days a week and 1/2 the week my kids were at their dads. He got me this UGLY doll - OX to 'cuddle' with. Still sleep with it this date - 1/2 under my pillow and 1/2 under my arm...hubby finds it cute. I take him with me when I travel as well - especially if I travel with out hubby. The story is written from OX point of view - he is telling the story... My journaling is 153 words, here it is in case it cannot be read on my layout: July 14th – I made a couple of jars of homemade pickles with garlic and peppercorns. Nolan helped me wash the cucumbers. I sliced them up and then he helped me put them into jars. I poured in the pickling liquid, basically lots of hot vinegar and done. And now we have two jars of yummy pickles. Nothing like seeing some homemade goodness sitting on the kitchen counter. The hardest part is waiting a few weeks before getting to crack open the jars to have a taste. And since I am scrapping about this way after, we did taste them. I can say that they were yummy, not as crunchy as store bought, but for my first try, I did good! Nolan, however, still preferred store bought pickles. Oh well! Kids! I do love all things homemade! So far, I have jarred jam and jalapeños. And now I can add pickles to my repertoire! Go me!
