Combining Kits
When creating your scrapbook layout, try combining kits, which provides you with even more choices of products to use in your page design.
When combining kits, you might want to look at designers that have similar or complementary styles to each other, such as Rachel Jefferies and Little Butterfly Wings. They are both artsy and have amazing elements and paper. I like the combination of these two kits …. Here And Now by Rachel Jefferies and Life Is: Having A Real Friend by Little Butterfly Wings. The blue tones coordinate well, the pink/peachy tones will work well together and both kits have a mix of green/yellow.
It’s not necessary to pick similar styles and colors when deciding on which kits to combine but this is just one way to go, one deciding factor you might use in your decision.

Another option might be to choose different designers’ kits that have the same predominant colors. Try searching by color. I love orange and was surprised at how many kits came up when I searched, such as …. Brown Sugar Days Collages by Rebecca McMeen, Valencia by Lynn Grieveson and Colors Of India by NBK Design.

You could also combine a kit with a lot of neutral colors with almost any other kit. Recoloring is always an option too, so don’t let it stop you from choosing a kit, if the colors don’t quite mesh together perfectly, just recolor as needed. I prefer to start with kits that, for the most part, work well together but I will tweak the colors too.
Don’t forget to check the BYOC products each month, as they are designed to coordinate together, so they are very easy to mix and match together. Check out our MAY BYOC products HERE.
Maybe you would like to combine kits that have the same theme, so the color may not be the deciding factor in your choice. The TLP store has 3 categories with submenus …. SHOP BY HOLIDAY, SHOP BY SEASON and SHOP BY THEME.
Try searching by product. Here’s a few kits that came up when I searched for “stars”.

I created a page using the kits I suggested by Rachel Jefferies and Little Butterfly Wings.

I hope that I have inspired you to try combining kits in your scrapbook page design! Have fun with it!
