Hello everyone – and happy Wednesday! I am dropping in with a quick tip about centering border layer in Photoshop. I love adding layers of different background papers to create a border on my digital pages. When I first started with this technique, I would resize the paper and then move it around until it looked centered on the page. Then I discovered a super quick and easy way to perfectly center the paper using the Transform Tool.
I used the technique on this page with the olive green colored paper:
All you need to do is follow these simple steps:
Step 1. Place the paper on the page and activate the Transform Tool (Ctrl > T). You should see an outline surrounding the paper.
Step 2. To change the size, place your cursor on one of the corners of the outline so that it changes into a double ended arrow. Adjust the size of the paper by clicking on the corner while holding the Alt and Shift keys. This will adjust the size from both directions making it perfectly centered on the page.
And that is all there is to it! I hope this technique comes in handy the next time you want perfectly centered background borders.
Until next time ~
