Are you totally loving all the cute mustache stuff out in the big world wide web? I hope so... because I am and I want to share some Valentine's goodies that have caught my eye and put a smile on my face! My intentions were to have my boy's Valentines cards made so that I could show you the awesome TLP products I used to make them. Sadly, a sick child (who shared his germs with me) put a damper on my productivity. Instead, I'll share with you what is going to happen and what I will use.So here's the PSE 9 version of what I will (hopefully) start tackling this week...- the mustache used on the left side will remain the same on all printed cards.-The mustache adorning that precious little face on the right, however, will be cut out with the Silhouette in various shapes and sizes using Jacque & Heather's PHOTO BOOTH PROPS and they can "dress up" their photos for each classmate … [Read more...]
Doing Without Photos
I know hard for us scrappers to actually believe but yes, wonderfully creative LOs can be achieved with no photos. There I said it! I know we all want to scrap the big smiles and bright eyes of our loved ones and create those memories. But that isn't all there is to scrapping. Wait before you jump up to disagree, scrapping is also our creative outlet. No matter what skill level we are on the creative aspect of scrapping is an important aspect of our fabulous obsession. So you may be wondering what goes into making a great photoless LO. Well I've searched through TLP galleries and it didn't take long to find many LOs to get some great inspiration from. With this LO by Laura we can really see how no photo is needed to scrap this very raw emotion. The use of dark colors, added grunge and the perfect title is all it takes for some scrapping therapy. A photoless LO doesn't always … [Read more...]
Love Is In The Air
Valentine's Day is in about three weeks, which means it's the perfect time to start thinking about possible gifts for the one you love. Last year I made a "Love You" mini book as an anniversary gift for my husband. Each page listed a reason why I love him. While it wasn't for Valentine's Day, you could easily adapt the same concept and make a "Love You" mini album for your significant other.I created the 4x6 mini album using paper supplies. However, I could easily see this album created in hybrid or digital format. With hybrid, you could print out some of the fabulous Valentine or love-themed products at The Lilypad, print out your photos, and put together the album with some journaling. With a digital mini book, you could create 4x6 pages with photos, journaling, and digital papers and embellishments. Then you could print the page out individually and bind together using … [Read more...]

Date it Creatively
I love date elements! The are just so cool and can add that little something to any LO especially when used creatively. If you are anything like me the idea of having a cool looking date element vs implementing said idea isn't always easy than you must check out these LOs that I found in the gallery for inspiration. This is a fabulous LO by Sherly showing how easy it is to work in a date with it being so, well boring. With the use of a stamp and a great alpha she has one fabulous date that flows so well with this LO. This LO by Jenny has just the added touch needed to emphasis the date. Notice the small tab used in the upper right which is totally separate from the "26" which is big and flows so well under the bow on this page. Just that one touch makes quite the difference. Ever look at those date stamps that have all the numbers and years in strips and wonder … [Read more...]
My Favorite Food Blogs!
A week ago, I moved into an apartment for the first time. Well, during the school year at least! One of the things I am most excited about (other than having /way/ more space than usual) is cooking for myself. My google reader is absolutely filled with food blogs and I have a ton of recipes that I want to try starred. I just wanted to share some of my favorite food blogs with you.First and foremost, there is Annie's Eats.Annie blogs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, with everything from cakes and ice cream to main dishes and tutorials! She has absolutely gorgeous photos and always has very clear instructions as well.Every single recipe I have tried from her blog has turned out amazingly. 2012 Color: Tangerine Tango!
Perhaps you saw this article in MSA's magazine, Home Is Where the Art Is, but just in case you didn't, I thought I'd show you. According to Patone Color Institute the color of 2012 is Tangerine Tango! I'm loving this! It's such a fun and vibrant color and really mixes well with so many others. I've already started to see it used here in digiland so I thought I would scope out and find all the TLP goodies featuring this fun and fearless color. Get ready digiland.... your color world is about to start dancing! I wonder how much of this orange you will find in your own personal wardrobe, accessories, or home decor this year. How much of it do you think will end up making it to your layouts?Let's check out some zesty uses of this playful orange and it's close relatives here at The Lilypad...I simply can not wait to see the gallery pop as this lively color fills it up! Tutorial | Print & Cut Digi Elements with the Silhouette
Remember my blog post last month about my Elf Party and how I printed and cut out some elves from Kate Hadfield's "Santa's Little Helpers" digital doodles, using my Silhouette digital cutting machine? Today I've recorded a video tutorial on exactly how to use the print & cut function with any of your digital elements!I've had my Silhouette SD machine since October 2009, and I love using it to cut out my digital elements for hybrid projects! Who needs scissors when the machine will cut it out for you? :DThis tutorial will work with any of the Silhouette machines (the original, the SD, and now the new Cameo). You just need to use the free Silhouette Studio software that comes with the machine. Are you ready for some cutting magic? After the Silhouette has done its cutting magic, I just carefully remove the cut-out pieces from the cutting mat.Now I have a bunch of … [Read more...]
