Let’s Talk About Love
I've been looking up cute ideas for Valentine's Day photo shoots with your kiddos (or significant other) and wanted to share some of the creative things I've found.I love how this shoot is styled, but even if you don't want to go to the effort of styling the whole shoot, it would be easy to make a sweet banner for a picture. (Inspiration from Inspire Me, Baby; photographer is Ciara Hammonds)This is a fun idea using chalk. (Inspiration from I Heart Faces; photographer is Cheng Bee.)Another idea from JinkyArt that would be easy to execute (can you tell I'm all about the easy?).And my attempt at a "heart" shot.A few more links with ideas:BetterPhoto.com has lots of ideas for different holidays. The Pen is Mightier Than The Sword
*Update* - Winner of the $15 Jetpens gift certificate announced below! :)As long as I remember, I have loved writing in notebooks and journals. There's just something about holding a pen in my hand and writing away into a notebook that I can't resist. I still have notebooks that I've written in from the 6th grade! Don't get me wrong, I love computers and being able to use it to type notes, emails, journaling, etc. But I do love pens and paper. Pens hold a special place in my heart! ♥With a lot of scrapbookers and digi-scrapbookers doing Project Life this year, I thought I would do a roundup of my favorite pens for writing & journaling for you. There's even a giveaway contest at the end of my post! :)When I think of a good pen to write with, there are several attributes that I look for. Then pen should glide effortlessly over my paper. The pen should not skip while … [Read more...]
Last week I blogged about these on my own personal blog... (I'd love to link you up but just found out my blog is down. Booooo!)The idea behind these cute mailboxes is to give each of us in our family the opportunity to show our love and appreciation for each other through little love notes and such. We started on February 1st and will continue to do so until Valentine's Day, when we will finally read them all. Thanks to the unbelievably AWESOME February BYOC at The Lilypad, I was able to have even more fun with it! Now instead of just writing little notes, I added a touch of TLP to them with some of those goodies.I left some of the cards just as they are because they already said everything I needed them to. Others I gave a little something extra to. (My handwriting bites a big one so please try not to focus on that too much.) I just wanted you to see that you could use these … [Read more...]

Displaying your photos!
Being a scrapper was what first got me interested in photography. I realized that having a beautiful photo can make all of the difference on a page. Now I'm not saying a beautiful photo is necessary, but it definitely helps! I also started taking more photos, which means I ended up with far more photos that I love then I can scrap. (I'm a slow scrapper). Or I have a ton of photos from the same event that didn't make the cut for the page I made, but I still love. And while I would look at them sometimes (mostly on Facebook), I didn't get to see them nearly as often as I would have liked.Which is why I made this. It's just 50 4x4 photos with a white border hung from baker's twine with these teeny tiny little clothespins. Here's a close up to give you a better idea. It's super super easy and I absolutely adore it! It's hanging right above my desk and seriously makes me happy every … [Read more...]
I {Mustache} You A Question…
Are you totally loving all the cute mustache stuff out in the big world wide web? I hope so... because I am and I want to share some Valentine's goodies that have caught my eye and put a smile on my face! My intentions were to have my boy's Valentines cards made so that I could show you the awesome TLP products I used to make them. Sadly, a sick child (who shared his germs with me) put a damper on my productivity. Instead, I'll share with you what is going to happen and what I will use.So here's the PSE 9 version of what I will (hopefully) start tackling this week...- the mustache used on the left side will remain the same on all printed cards.-The mustache adorning that precious little face on the right, however, will be cut out with the Silhouette in various shapes and sizes using Jacque & Heather's PHOTO BOOTH PROPS and they can "dress up" their photos for each classmate … [Read more...]
Doing Without Photos
I know hard for us scrappers to actually believe but yes, wonderfully creative LOs can be achieved with no photos. There I said it! I know we all want to scrap the big smiles and bright eyes of our loved ones and create those memories. But that isn't all there is to scrapping. Wait before you jump up to disagree, scrapping is also our creative outlet. No matter what skill level we are on the creative aspect of scrapping is an important aspect of our fabulous obsession. So you may be wondering what goes into making a great photoless LO. Well I've searched through TLP galleries and it didn't take long to find many LOs to get some great inspiration from. With this LO by Laura we can really see how no photo is needed to scrap this very raw emotion. The use of dark colors, added grunge and the perfect title is all it takes for some scrapping therapy. A photoless LO doesn't always … [Read more...]
