XL Photo Spot Tip

Hello everyone and happy SOSN Wednesday! We have an amazing collection of digital goodies in the SOSN sale today. I am dropping in to show you just a few of them, but also with a tip for repurposing extra large photo spots in a template. I am definitely a fan of single photo layouts and templates, but sometimes the photo I want to use just doesn’t look right in an extra large photo spot. For example, I LOVE this set of templates by Cheryl of Fiddle-Dee-Dee Designs (on sale for 50% off in the SOSN sale today):

The photo I wanted to use didn’t look quite right in the extra large photo spot so I adjusted it to look like a layered background and added a smaller frame for my photo:

 

Life Right Now

All I did was clip a piece of patterned paper to the photo spot and then added a journaling card and frame for my photo. You could also add more pieces under the photo frame if you a more layered look. It was really that simple to adjust a large photo spot to accommodate a smaller layered photo.

 

I hope this tip helps you out the next time you want to add a smaller photo to a large spot. 🙂

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
