We at The LilyPad are extremely excited to welcome you to this new addition to our home on the web. This blog is a great way for us to communicate about happenings in the Pad. We plan on sharing challenges, new products, general news and chit-chat. It is our hope that you will become a frequent visitor and participant here…

Let’s get on with the fun stuff!!! To celebrate our blog’s opening, we thought a challenge would be in order. We hope you’ll enjoy this challenge as much as we have – it’s a fun and super easy one. The challenge is to scrap a layout in LilyPad colors only – pink, green, black and white! To help with this challenge, each designer has put together a set of products in our colors. Each of these products is super low-priced and available in the Froggy Finds bin where all products are $1.99 or less. These new items are color coordinated to match perfectly to help your challenge layout come together easily!

We have opened a new challenge gallery where we hope you will join us in sharing your layouts. We will be browsing through the gallery over the next week to select six random challenge winners. Please post your layout no later than Friday, August 17th, at midnight, EST, for the chance to win one of the following great prizes to the LilyPad:

One of Kate’s team members worked on a special hybrid project – Jess put together this wonderful CD tin using the new LilyPad products. Hybrid projects like this are a great way to express creativity. Not only is this a very pretty project, but it’s useful as well! This tin is the perfect to use to store product backups for each designer.

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
