Using Digital Supplies to Organize Your Life

Polly Dawn here with my very first blog post! I know that we all love using digital supplies from The Lilypad for digital and hybrid scrapbooking but I’d like to share how you can extend the use of these products even further into practical tools for staying organized and motivated.

Like many people, I use a planner to remember important events and tasks and to stay on track with what I need or want to be doing. For a while I was spending a lot of money on  pre-made planners and stickers to decorate them. Then I had a lightbulb moment when I realized I could use my beautiful Lilypad stash for that purpose! It’s a wonderful way to get extra use out of your digital supplies and I find that having a pretty planner helps keep me motivated to use it. There are unlimited options for creating/decorating a planner, including using a pre-made planner and printing/cutting your digi supplies as stickers for decorating. That was Aly’s approach in the beautiful planner spread below made with Hear My Voice: 30 – Caring by Rachel Jefferies & Lynn Grieveson.

For my planner, I created a simple grid page in Photoshop (mostly just using the rectangle tool). I use that as the base for all my weekly pages and then just add decorations on top every week and print. I pop these pages into an A5 binder which stays on my desk. My calendar for the upcoming week is made with Rachel Etrog’s Explore the Unknown collection. I love that each week, I can have a different theme or design to cheer me on like this one encouraging me to seek adventure and new experiences.

In addition to weekly pages, I stay organized with a monthly calendar page that gives me a glimpse of the whole month. I especially love to create all the pages in a month using BYOC products since I can use different designs for each page but they all coordinate to keep the look cohesive. This page is also made with Rachel Etrog’s Explore the Unknown collection (which is part of the beautiful March BYOC) and calendar cards from Nic & Joy, Hi 2025 Calendar Cards.

When you want to reinforce daily habits, a habit tracker can be really useful. I love using the the circular design below. I will write a habit on each line at the top and then fill in the boxes with colored pencils as I complete my habits every day over the course of a month. This was made with Joyce Paul’s Wildwood Tales Bundle – also part of the March BYOC.

A more detailed tracker can also keep you focused in specific areas. Since the New Year, I have been keeping a fitness tracker to monitor nutrition and exercise. I decorated this week’s with Rachel Jefferies, Waypoints Collection which (you guessed it) is part othe March BYOC.

These are just a few of the ways that you can use your digital kits and supplies to stay organized. Other ways include creating simple to-do lists, pages to keep a gratitude journal, budget trackers, and pages to formulate and document progress on goals. The Lilypad Planner Gallery has tons of inspiration on different types of planner pages. Finally, if that all sounds like a lot and you just want an easy way to get started, check out the Planner section in The Lilypad store that has ready-to-go planner pages and organizing embellishments.

Stretching your TLP stash to help organize your life is a wonderful way to get extra value out of your supplies, stay on track with your goals and add a little more beauty to to your every day routine.
