Tips and Tricks – Using your Search
So, you’ve gotten into digital scrapbooking. Surely, you have an ever growing supply of digital kits, elements, alphas, etc…! Now lets say you don’t have ACDSee or a tagging system, making it easy to find just what you are looking for right when you need it?! Well, if you don’t want to spend the money on a tagging system or organizer I have a free way for you to find just what you might need to make that layout extra special! If you are real fluent with computers you may utilize this tool already! If not, well sit back and learn, and then go give it a try and create an amazing page!
So what I do is go to my start menu, then to computer and then I find where all of my kits are. So in the example below if you follow the top line you will see I am in my kits folder and I can see all of my different stores/designers folders. This is where all of my digital scrapbooking supplies are. Now I have circled the search box that you will be using!

Now lets say you are looking for a ribbon. I just type in ribbon in the search field and it will automatically start pulling up all of the ribbons that you have that are named somehow with the word ribbon! Now you don’t have to hunt thru every single kit and folder!

This will not necessarily bring up EVERY ribbon you have in your stash! It will all depend upon weather or not the designer puts the type of element it is in the name of the product. I have found however that you will more than likely find more than enough options!
While I was writing up this post I also typed in Christmas, Pink (you could do any color), staple, tag, and even the random one like butterfly and each one of my searches pulled up some great options that I probably would have never found if I was going to go look thru folder after folder! And talk about the time it will save you too!!!
So have fun with that little tip, and let me know if it has helped you immensely! I like feedback on my tips and tricks! Feel free to let me know also if you have any tips or tricks you would like me to try and cover!
